Often hear an inner voice cautioning you from sharing your ideas – a voice that tells you it’s not the right time or place to speak up? That you aren’t prepared enough or informed enough? That “they must have thought of that already” or “it’s probably obvious”?

Do you hear an inner voice telling you that you don’t measure up, that you aren’t as together or responsible or smart or successful as so and so?

Do you feel like on the one hand – you are smart, confident and capable – but on the other hand – often stopped in your tracks by a vicious inner critic that says things totally out of character with who you are?

Are you tired of hearing the same almost automatic self-critiques about your appearance when you look in the mirror?

You aren’t crazy. You aren’t alone. And there is a way to live differently.

The more you are pursuing a unique, authentic, fulfilling path ….

Did you know that the more you are pursuing a unique, authentic, fulfilling path, the more likely you are to battle with a vocal inner critic? When we are living ho-hum lives, safe in the status quo, the inner critic tends to get quiet. When we contemplate change, share our unique ideas, or go for our dreams, the inner critic speaks up.

The inner critic limits us. You know it keeps you from enjoying your day to day life, appreciating your talents, and from making the bold moves that are going to get you where you want to go in your career and your life.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. After struggling with my own inner critic for years, I was shocked to learn that there are simple tools that quiet the inner critic, tools we can learn in a couple hours and see the impact of right away. Those tools had a tremendous impact on my own life, and now I’ve seen them change the lives of client after client. I wanted to make them available in a more affordable way, beyond my one on one coaching practice.

That’s why I’m offering a phone-based workshop on this topic: Living Your Brilliance: Quieting the Inner Critic and Reclaiming the Driver’s Seat in Your Work and Your Life.

In the workshop, you’ll learn:

• How to recognize your inner critic and separate it’s voice from your own best thinking. How do you tell the difference between your inner critic and rational arguments? How do you tell the difference between your inner critic and your intuition or gut instinct?

How to quiet your inner critic when it shows up. What you can do in the moment to find your sane, centered self again and move out of fear and self-doubt.

• How you can experience a less pervasive, less invasive inner critic presence over the long term.

Signing up for the class gives you access to:

• The live and recorded calls (3 hours of workshop).
• My inner critic workbook, which I normally use only with my one on one coaching clients. You’ll receive it as part of the course.
• Access to a online group for course participants where you can share questions, learnings, and get support. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask me your questions, on the calls or anonymously online, so that you can receive personalized support.

Here’s what a few past workshop participants and coaching clients have to say:

“Tara’s taught me the tools to rediscover my own voice, formerly hidden beneath a deafening and suffocating avalanche of self-doubt. Through working with Tara, I have felt my senses and confidence sharpen, heightening my experience in every part of my life.” –Workshop Participant

“More than anyone I have met, Tara has a natural capability for guiding others to access their own strengths and personal vision, while honoring vulnerability and nourishing glimmers of personal insight. She knows how to a hold a space where each participant feels valued and heard.” – Workshop participant

I loved loved loved your workshop. I enjoyed every minute of it and I am so grateful… What I learned has been shaping my thinking since the workshop and I hope will continue to shape my life in the year to come. – Workshop participant

The workshop is January 12 & 26th 12 noon to 1:30pm PST (3pm-4:30pm EST). The cost is $98. Click below to reserve your spot!

I’ve never done an “online workshop” before. How does it work?

It’s actually very simple. When you sign up you’ll receive in your email inbox some written materials as well as a call-in number. On January 12 and 26th, you’ll dial into a conference call and the workshop will take place by phone. We’ll have some time for teaching, some for exercises you’ll do on your own and be guided through, and some time for Q&A and discussion. You don’t need to be in front of a computer during the workshop – a phone and pen and paper is all you need.

You’ll also have access to an online forum where you can share questions or reflections between the two calls, if you’d like.

What if I can’t attend the calls?

You’ll have access to the recordings and can listen at any time. The course is designed so that it will work for those who can’t attend live.

I like this topic, but….

I’m a little nervous about participating. Will I have to share about my inner critic or something like that on the calls?”

No. There will be a time for q&a on each call, and those who want to can jump in with questions. Others will be able to just listen and learn the tools.

What if I’m not sure if it’s a good fit for me?

If you have a specific question, feel free to email me at tara@taramohr.com with your question about fit.

What would it give you?

What would it give you to do your work and live in your life in 2011 without so much influence from this voice? What difference would it make in the amount of peace you felt, and fun you had on the average day? How much more would you get done without self-doubt slowing you down? How much more remarkable would you be in your work?

It’s our inner critic narratives, more than anything else, that keep us from living our best lives. In 2011, I want you to take big strides forward – and that requires overcoming your inner critic.

Love,

Tara
