Living More Authentically

The Latest

Hi there,

Writing with a quick update on two recent articles I have around the web.

1. “5 Steps to Transforming Your B+ Life” at Huffington Post. This (the B+ life) is one of my favorite topics – personal to me and something that resonates with everyone I talk to about it. You may have read this article before at Wise Living Blog (then titled “Living and Leaving the B+ Life). If not, or to read the updated version, visit Huff Post and check it out there. Please share and RT too!

2. At Forbes, “To MBA or not to MBA?,” an article I wrote in response to a reader’s question about whether I felt my MBA was worth it. You’ll get my honest pros and cons assessment about the experience and a few good laughs too. (There was a lot that was absurd and hilarious about me in the MBA environment, as you might imagine). I think the pros and cons are relevant for people considering all types of grad school, not just business school. There’s a special emphasis in the article on women – but lots relevant to men too.

Enjoy!

Warmly,

Tara

  • Hi Tara,

Congrats on your two fine articles. Many folks must resonate with the B+ life (or even a C+ for a lot of others.) We’re taught to settle from childhood onward in a formulaic way. Follow the consumer brick road and you’ll be happy. Yet, so few are.

MBA article touches on an interesting topic – the belief we need to purchase something else to be able to have more than a B+ life.

If it’s always something, then it will be hard to move into a more fearless place. I agree with your advice to lean into the questions.

Everyone ought to question what s/he believes and why. Often it’s not true for that person.

    Enjoyed them both! Giulietta

    Congrats, Tara!

I resonated with the second article because I used to be a lawyer and many people ask me if I regret going to law school since I no longer work as an attorney. I have no regrets whatsoever. The education was great and it made me a better writer and communicator.

Our society forgets that quality of life has more to do with how we apply what we learn. A piece of paper/degree does not guarantee success. Passion is inbuilt…not bought.

    Hope all is well!

Thanks so much for reading and for sharing your thoughts! It’s so true with the MBA thing – easy to fall into the trap of thinking, “Ill start living/leading/speaking up/doing the big stuff once I have the degree…” Big lie!
