Fed By Everything
The tea that tastes like that
and the pause to stare
at the leaves and love them
as you walk out the door
The long evenings of rest and laughter
that stretch out time
and make a bowl for the stars
that run overtime
past your comfort with resting
to mark that life delivered something sweet
and the fire to warm it
and the bowl to cup it
and the salt taste and the sweet
If you are lucky
you’ll be struck dumb enough
to see this abundant feast
to hear the words whispering
that you don’t have toil here.
In the end
is a matter of being fed
each pore consenting
to become a riverbed

Stunning! I am writing a post on self-care, abundance, and creativity. Thank you for nourishing the process with this beautiful poem.

PERFECTION. Thank you. xo
I love this, Tara. My favorite part is that it makes me think, maybe I’m much too hard on myself when I think I need to get better and improve myself all the time, day after day, etc etc….maybe I’m closer than I think, if I can look around and soak up the good things around me, and let that be enough (plenty, in fact). Lovely, lovely!
So beautifully aligned with your concept of the summer workshop–absolutely wonderful!
